It's hard for me to fathom the thought that this little girl is already 10 months old. Can it really be true that in just two short months she will be a whole year? Someday get me the remote, I'd like to pause this moment in time please!
She is her own little person with her own personality and she is fast developing her likes and dislikes. It seems like that has never been more evident than this past month -- I can't believe all the things she is doing now that she couldn't just a few weeks ago!
Here are some of her favorite new "tricks":
- Waving "Hi" and "Bye bye" -- she was quite proud of herself the first time she did this! Although chances are if you are trying to get her to do it, she won't. She usually doesn't start waving at people until they've already left the room.
- Saying "Dada" -- she's been babbling those syllables for some time now but just recently started to actually connect them to her "Daddy".
- Shaking her head "Yes" -- she conquered "No" quite some time ago (why does it always seem like that's the first one they understand? :) but just figured out how to get her head to go in the other direction.
- Grabbing her toys and pulling them into her crib with her -- we just moved her mattress down to the very lowest level, which is conviently located right next to a basket of stuffed animals that I keep on the floor in the corner. She will reach through the crib slats into the basket and pull her animals in to play with after she wakes up from her nap.
Every day she becomes less of a little baby and more of a little girl. I'm trying to cherish these moments and those chubby cheeks for as long as they last!
