I Caved…

I got a Pumpkin Spice Latte today. I couldn’t help myself. These cool early morning temperatures were just begging for it.

Lily said: “Mommy copy peas?”

Translation: “Mommy’s coffee please?”

Someday when she’s old enough, I’ll introduce her to the goodness that is Starbucks. But for today she had to be satisfied with Cheerios and raisins instead. I think she was a little bitter :)

Dare I say it? I think Fall might be slowly wooing me. We spent all morning outside with not a drop of sweat on us.

Kate tempted me with pictures of Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies that I feel like I MUST MAKE THIS VERY SECOND.

And I almost *almost* opened up my bin of fall decorations this afternoon.

If only I could pretend like this gorgeous weather won’t eventually give way to freezing, snowy, slushy, yucky WINTER. But you know what? Let’s not talk about that.

What’s your favorite thing about fall?

Miscellany

Just some Stuff and Nonsense, in a list:

  1. Replaced my hair dryer this weekend. I was just going to get the same one I had before but they didn't have it anymore so I had to choose a new one and I would not be exaggerating one bit if I told you it took me well over 30 minutes to pick it out.

    {I am not the least bit indecisive}

    {And I'm also never sarcastic}

    {Anyway}

    This is the one I ended up getting. It has a retractable cord, and that, my friends, was the deal breaker. Plus it's pink. I heart pink :) Oh yes, and it blows hot air. Hallelujah!
  2. Speaking of hair, I'm growing mine out. This happens about once a year -- I cut my hair short for a few months, get sick of it, decide to grow it out and then the second I get it to a nice length, decide I want it short again. It's a vicious cycle. This is what my hair looked like last October:
  3. See how long and shiny? Why did I cut it off? This time I'm growin' it out for good.

    {I think}

    {Remind me of that a year from now}

    {And isn't that the cutest little pumpkin I have in my arms there?}

    {Anyway}

  4. I totally cheated on my all time favorite drink at Starbucks this weekend. Pumpkin Spice, I'm afraid you are a Fall Fling. You've been replaced by someone who is so much sweeter. Nothing can compare to my new favorite, the Marble Mocha Macchiato. It reminds me a lot of the drink that turned me on to coffee in the first place. Please don't tell me how many calories are in it -- I prefer to live in blissful ignorance for now :)

    {Don't worry Pumpkin Spice. I'll reconnect with you next fall}

  5. I got this lamp at TJ Maxx the other day. Love it.

  6. Planning a little DIY project -- I'll tell you more later, but for now, I'll just say that involves a can of this:

    Curious? Any guesses what I'm doing?

  7. And last, but not least:

  8.  Cuteness
    Happy Wednesday!

I'm A Social Drinker...

...of COFFEE that is {the alcohol I don't touch but that's a story for another day...}

I think it started in college when going to study at a coffee shop was uber-cool. All my friends were doing it. And besides, what else do you order at a coffee shop? {Well, sometimes I ordered hot chocolate, but that's beside the point...}

But I don't think I really became hooked until I graduated college and started working a very stressful job. My friend Molly and I would take our 15 minute break and run to a little coffee kiosk in the skywalk near our building -- just so we could get outta Dodge for a few minutes. She introduced me to the Turtle Mocha -- it was love at first sip.

It didn't take long for me to become addicted to the "foo-foo" coffee drink. White Chocolate Mochas, Cinnamon Dolces, and of course, the Pumpkin Spice Latte. DE-LISH.

But still, it was a social thing -- we didn't have a coffee maker at home. Until now.

My mom got a new coffee maker awhile back and offered me her old one. I accepted. And this weekend at the store I went in search for some coffee that I could stomach {I still can't handle it strong and black like some people}. This is what I got:

Doesn't that sound simply delectable?

And I'll be using this in it:

Mmmm....

I like my coffee with lotsa cream, sugar, flavor, or all three. How do you like your coffee?
